(Auto)biografies lingüístiques en el debat públic de la transició espanyola: quins models per afrontar moments de canvi?
Abstract
Language (auto)biographies became a burgeoning genre during the Spanish transition, largely thanks to the dissemination of various works by Francesc Candel. During those years, anonymous citizens and political representatives from almost all the parliamentary spectrum recounted their own language autobiography or the biography of a close person in order to position themselves in the public debate and, if possible, to condition the political debate of the constituent period (1978). It was generally accepted that the monolingualism that had characterised Francoism could not be part of democratic Spain. The Spanish transition was a period of long and varied debates about languages, generated mainly in the field of journalism and politics.
