Primary hyperparathyroidism in the geriatric population: A case report and mini literature review

Abstract

Abstract We report a case of a 93‐year‐old woman with PHPT secondary to a left inferior parathyroid adenoma. The patient met criteria to be a surgical candidate; however, literature about parathyroidectomy in the elderly was limited and controversial. The patient remained stable through medical management for the next 5 years.
