Les occurrences de [ç] dans le parler de Languidic (breton haut-vannetais)
Abstract
With regard to its occurrences in Languidic Breton, it was observed that the phone [ç] is a realisation of /h/ in a palatal environment induced by /j/ [j], such that /h//+/j/ = [ç]. This purely phonetic phenomenon appears in single lexical morphemes and also in derivation. Morphophonologically, [ç] was identified in two cases of consonant mutations. One was the spirantisation of /k-/, which was itself subject to affrication, exclusively followed by the central vowels [ø̞] or [ə]. The other was the provection of /j-/, which was the only occurrence where the articulation [ç] was relevant, contradicting some specific cases of non-provection. A subsidiary comment on the lenition of initial /g/ to /j/ is also included.
