LA CERÁMICA CON DECORACIÓN AL NEGATIVO EN EL CAÑÓN DE BOLAÑOS, MÉXICO: UNA INTERPRETACIÓN (Pottery with Negative Decoration in the Bolaños Canyon, Mexico: An Interpretation)
Abstract
La cerámica con decoración negativa era ampliamente conocida entre muchos pueblos prehispánicos del continente americano desde tiempos muy antiguos. Para obtener ese tipo de decoración se necesita una técnica muy compleja. Varios autores han propuesto diversas técnicas para lograr el negativo según la sociedad que lo utilizó. En México se aplicaba entre las sociedades más antiguas. En la cultura Bolaños, esta técnica se utilizaba como símbolo de prestigio. Las representaciones plasmadas en los motivos decorativos indican su ideología, transmitiendo así la forma de ver el mundo de los vivos y los muertos, así como el comportamiento de los fenómenos naturales vinculados al ser humano. ENGLISH: Pottery with negative decoration was widely known among many pre-Hispanic peoples of the American continent since ancient times. A very complex technique is required in order to obtain this type of decoration. Several authors have proposed various techniques to achieve the negative according to the society that used it. In Mexico it was applied among the oldest societies. In the Bolaños culture, this technique was used as a symbol of prestige. The representations embodied in the decorative motifs indicate their ideology, thus transmitting the way of seeing the world of the living and the dead, as well as the behavior of natural phenomena linked to human beings.
