La moneda circulante en la Capitanía General de Venezuela durante el siglo XVIII
Abstract
This article studies the currency in circulation in the Captaincy General of Venezuela, a sparsely populated territory on the southern Caribbean coast where there was active smuggling of precious metals with the territories controlled by the Dutch and the British, as well as the Petitions of the Intendant of Caracas, Francisco de Saavedra, for the establishment of a provincial currency in this territory, that although they were approved by the metropolitan authorities and even got to coin this currency, did not get to circulate.
