Testing of Primary School Learners’ Achievements in Foreign Language Learning through the Perspective of Coursebook Creation

The article investigates the conceptual issues of creating foreign language coursebook as a means of ensuring assessment and testing of primary school learners’ achievements in learning a foreign language. The leading psychologicaldidactic tasks and the corresponding general skills and universal learning activities of young learners are analyzed. Main focus for testing foreign language results is specified. Types, organization forms, ways and functions of testing are reviewed. Basic characteristics for the system of young learners’ comprehensive grades are defined. Recommendations for utilizing testing in primary school learners’ foreign language teaching and implementing Child’s Portfolio as a tool for their reflection, selftesting and selfassessment are suggested.
