The paper considers the issues of applying the additive technologies in the design process of the ship intercommunication facilities at a modern instrument-making enterprise. It is shown that the use of 3D printing technologies on Ultimaker 3 printer provides for creation of prototypes of finished products within the shortest time period and the appropriate option selection. Application of the additive technologies gives the possibility to reduce the complexity of the design work phase by 5–6 times
