The main purpose of this study is to present the derivational process in the analysis of Kurdish and Persian words from the perspective of the morpheme-based morphological theory of how morphemes are arranged together to form words. Then, the similarities and differences between the two languages within the framework of the derivational process are presented. In this theory, the main unit of morphological analysis is a morpheme, which is a unit comprised of a word or something smaller than a word, whether it is a free morpheme or an affix. Similarly, affixes, like lexical free morphemes, have their lexical entry in the dictionary of every language. Therefore, we have employed the Lieber model of lexical organization, which is a morpheme-based morphology theory. . After that, we have taken some derivational words that are analyzed via this theory within the context of Kurdish and Persian. Finally, the researchers have presented the types of derivational processes in both aforementioned languages.
