Magmatic Microgranular Enclaves (MMEs) found within the cordierite-bearing monzogranites of the Sierra Bermeja Pluton (southern Iberian Massif) were investigated to understand their potential petrogenetic relationship. Variations in mineralogy, such as the absence of cordierite (Crd) and potassium feldspar (Kfs) in the MMEs, as well as differences in the compositions of biotite (Bt) and plagioclase (Pl), along with the lack of correlations of certain elements in whole-rock geochemistry, suggest a distinct origin for the MMEs compared to the host monzogranites. The MMEs may represent minor globules of a more mafic magma injected into and mixed with the host monzogranitic magma, with no significant alterations in the geochemical characteristics of the latter.
