Special Terms of Scholars of ‘Ilm al-Jarah wa Ta’dil: An Overview

Abstract

The science through which a Hadith is analyzed is called the Wm allarh wa al-Ta 'di!. This science is regarded as a very cautious and difficult art. It is a yard stick to scrutinize a tladith and help to explore whether the Hadith is authentic or fabricated. The specialists of this science are called `Ilm al Jarh wa al-TaVil.
