La « norme de sollicitude » jusqu’à l’oubli de soi dans la prise en charge des résidents de maison de retraite
Abstract
Among housing options for older people experiencing autonomy losses, retirement homes appear as foils. Improving the living conditions they offer to their residents has been the primary objective of many public initiatives since the early 2000s. The promotion of "well-treatment" through law, but also in the very practical organization in situ yet reveals what may be regarded as a perverse effect. The polarization of a group of residents on the one hand and of group of workers on the other can lead to conceptualize their interests as opposed and irreconcilable. Improving residents' living conditions holds then the possibility of being promoted at the expense of care professionals’ protection.
