L’expédition d’Atilius Regulus en Afrique (256-255 av. J.-C.). Une remise en contexte

Abstract

The scope of this paper is to explain two aspects of the M. Atilius Regulus’ expedition in Africa in 256-255 B.C. In a first place, we will study the struggle between Regulus and the Bagrada’s giant snake and try to interpret and to date this tradition. In a second place, this article will focus on the role played by local populations during this expedition.
