Paku atai merah tubers (angiopteris ferox Copel) commonly used as tradisional medicines by dayak tribes. The aims of this research were to know the secondary metabolites and antioxidant activity in the ethanolic extract of paku atai merah tubers. This research had been conducted on phytochemical test and antioxidant activity of extract was determined by the DPPH method (1,1-Difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil) using spectrophotometer UV-Vis. The result of phytochemical tests showed that the ethanolic extract of paku atai merah tubers contained alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins and steroids. While it had a strong antioxidant activity with the IC50 values of 193,20 ppm.
