The CO2 corrosion is a complex phenomenon in which participate great amount of variables. The present article includes the effect of some important factors in CO2 corrosion on carbon steels, as temperature, CO2 partial pressure, pH, flux velocity and presence of corrosion and scale inhibitors. The individual aspect of the described variables, in the corrosion rate of material was evaluated, same way, was determined the influence of interaction between factors to determine the magnitude of the global effect in the corrosive process. A mathematical analysis of experimental results of secondary sources and divulgated in specialized publications was done in order to build an adjusted model that allows determine the corrosion rate of material as an simultaneous effect of the described parameters. The obtained model was programmed in MATLAB® software, and to corroborate the model¿s precision, it was compared whit the experimental information and whit a neural network model under equal conditions, obtaining adequate approximations.
