Graphoanalytical determination of acceleration during regular precession

Abstract

In this paper, which deals with spherical motion, the additional acceleration from Rivals' theorem is first explained, and then, for regular precession, a graphoanalytic procedure for determining acceleration using ellipses is given. In addition, it is shown how to graphically determine the center of a curve if the observed point is on a plane of symmetry.
