ADDICTION TO THE WORK AND OCCUPATIONAL BURNOUT OF PROFESSIONAL SOLDIERS
Abstract
The problem of work addiction and professional burnout are extremely important areas in the specific profession of a soldier, and even more so an officer holding a managerial function in the hierarchical structure of the armed forces. Therefore, raising qualifications is an inseparable element of military service, especially due to the growing need to develop one's own professional competences. It is therefore worth taking a closer look at the phenomena that also occur in the military service. In order to examine the problem of workaholism and occupational burnout among professional soldiers, an in depth analysis of individual dimensions of these phenomena was carried out, especially in terms of possible relation-ships, as well as in relation to socio-professional factors. Empirical research among officers made it possible to diagnose the situation in this regard and formulate appropriate conclusions. The results of the analyzes were presented on the basis of a diagnostic survey carried out in 2021 on a research sample consisting of officers studying at one of the Polish military universities. Standardized measurement tools and selected elements of descriptive and correlation statistics were used in the research.
