About a Reunion. On the Model and Provenance of a Painting Attributed to Juan Simón Gutiérrez (1634-1718)

Abstract

This study is about the painting the Virgin and Child in the company of Saint Dominic and Saint Francis attributed here to Juan Simón Gutiérrez (1634-1718), which belonged to the Hacienda La Prusiana at Mairena de Aljarafe (Sevilla). This research focuses on the repercussion of Murillo's pictorial models (1617-1682) among his disciples and followers, and provides documentary data about its provenance and where was located into the building La Prusiana.
