Nudges applied to the mobility of individuals are fuelling a growing number of field experiments. After a presentation of the concept of nudge, the article presents a literature review of nudges. This is followed by a classification of cognitive biases that nudges draw on to modify a given architecture. Then follows a novel design of nudges for a smartphone application aimed at modifying work-home mobility behaviours.Beyond the different definitions attributed to nudges and the production of original nudges, the article highlights the theoretical and operational aspects around the different ways in which nudges can be used to encourage users to change their behaviour patterns via information and communications technologies (ICTs). Our approach marshals behavioral econometrics, information and communication sciences and cognitive sciences in an in-depth analysis from a techno-public policy perspective.
