Using remote sensing to analyze hydro-morphological changes on Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve coast line
Abstract
The morphological changes on Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve coast analyses are based on existing satellite images. Starting with MS LANDSAT satellite image from 1975 and end up with SPOT 5 from 2006, the satellite images analyses show the changes on coast line and the influence of human arm morphology changes in Sf. Gheorghe on costal processes. The most visible influence is in the evolution of Sacalin peninsula. The paper develop the idea from a study published in 1999 [1] showing that coast line hydro-morphological processes can be the analyze, if more high resolution satellite images are available.
