The use of public spaces has contributed increasingly to the interconnection of knowledge in Science Education. In this sense, this article aims to understand how the space of a public square is represented as a favorable location for the development of themes involving the Ecological Literacy. Therefore, dialogues with Segawa (1996), Bauman (2001) and Capra (2003, 2006). Its methodological development is based, also, on visits to a public square in Manaus, where semi-structured interviews were conducted with seven (07) goers. The text structure is divided in o three points: 1) The historical function of the squares; 2) The square as Ecological Literacy instrument; 3) The square as a pedagogical space by representation of its regulars. The results indicate that the experiments carried out in the square favors the Ecological Literacy process through meaningful learning space.
