Abstract

The present essay describes and analyzes Agave. Contributo allo studio delle fonti della storia dell'arte in Italia nel Novecento, a digital resource outcome of a research project financed by italian Ministry of University and Education and Fondazione Banco di Sicilia di Palermo. The contribution highlightshow the creation of a database constituted by the digitization of photos and illustration, the indexing and description of articles of a newspaper such as the Palermo L’Ora, requires a deep awareness of the specificity of the sources of contemporary art; at the same time how such a digital resource became a multidisciplinary resource that allows the emergence of useful information for historical research.
