Abstract

The presented work aims to study the municipal charters granted by the Military Orders in the period of Christian reconquest, since D. Afonso Henriques until D. Dinis, seeking to understand the connections between the two powers. In addition, it also aims to study the royal rulings on conflicts of interest that emerged between municipalities and Military Orders on the reign of King D. Afonso III until Afonso IV.
