STORMY DAYS IN ÇUKUROVA AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 20th CENTURY AND FETTAHOĞULLARI

Abstract

Fettahogullari has overrun everywhere in Oghuz’s places. They have been named in recorded sources as Fettah, Fettahlı / Fettahlu, Fettahlıgil, Fettahoğlu and Fettahgullari during Ottoman Empire period. It can be understood clearly that their journey had been started from Khurasan in Iranian since 700 and spreaded go back to Vienna. Fettahogullari that belonged to Oghuz’s Bayındır and Agcakoyunlu tribes has been spreaded go back to Turkmenistan, Azerbaijani, Iranian, Iraq, Syria, Western Thrace, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Kosovo and 40 different countries of Turkey. Fettahogullari that has placed Kahramanmaras and Osmaniye has been fought against Frenchman in 1918. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his fellow shoulder have taken an important role in fight off Frenchman and Armenians. After than, they have crusaded at western front and driven back Greeks. For rewarding these achievements Grand National Assembly of Turkey, before it Mustafa Kemal has been remunerated them with Indepence Medals.
