The Higher Education defends for a new educational paradigm, one involving active methodologies and evaluation strategies that focus on development of basic competencies as the means to achieve the comprehensive education of students. This paper describes a study based on the application of one of these active methodologies, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), for Education students enrolled in courses that address diversity awareness in different degrees. The sample consisted of 239 students of the Faculty of Sciences of the Education of the University of Granada. The results show differences in the achievement of competences according to the degree.
