Cartografia storica: valorizzazione e fruizione in ambiente digitale
Abstract
Historical Cartography: conversion and exploitation in a digital environment Digital processing of historical cartography is an interesting new geomatic application, for the conservation and valorisation of cultural and historical heritage and for the analysis of territorial data. A historical map can be converted in digital form, georeferenced and subsequently elaborated in various manners; new graphic visualizations can be provided and the map can be inserted into a GIS environment. As an example of digital processing, a three-dimensional model derived from an historical perspective map of Bologna is presented.
