THE EFFECTS OF DEGENERATION AT TURKISH CARPET ART AND SOME PRECAUTION RECOMMENDATIONS
Abstract
Our traditional carpets are produced according to our needs. Their weaving technique, patterns and textile materials are shaped in parallel with our cultural structure. From past to the present, through the studies on the first examples of the carpets, we can observe the reflection of Turkish society's sociological, psychological, economic, geographic and cultural change and development. That is why the traditional hand rugs are as important as an archive document. The corruption of the examples of this archive will cause the incorrect cultural heritage to reach the next generations. For these purposes, in this study the proposed measures are tried to develop through the identification of the corruption causes.
