FEATURES OF MUSICAL LANGUAGE AND DRAMATURGY IN STABAT MATER BY V. CHOLAK
Abstract
In the recent decades, the increased interest in spiritual subjects is identifi ed in the appearance of a number of religious musical compositions. In this regard, the works by V. Cholak are very signifi cant, he oft en turns to diff erent genres of Orthodox and Catholic tradition. Among the composer’s numerous choral works, Stabat Mater is a signifi cant legacy of creative achievement. It synthesizes the church style of Gregorian and baroque tradition with modern technology, which makes the originality of the composer’s style and determines the strength of the impact of works of art.
