The aim of this work is to outline a point of view about the importance of language and its teaching. We are living in an uncertain age where changes are faster than before, and language is affected by that transformations too. The question is if changes help welfare or we have a worse knowledge of reality. From this article we pretend to expound the reasons to defend the importance of Language and Literature Teaching and, above all, how it helps welfare. Maybe we should rename the utopian linguistic and literary education and name it as a reality we can obtain throughout a critical and communicative focus.
