The paper describes one of the results of the research project “framework enlargement of adult continuing education in environmental education” at the University of Camagüey. A historical study was conducted to account for the trend in curricular design of the comprehensive discipline in Biology-geography major. The study takes into account emerging indicators resulting from the dialectical relation between education-development and personal development and framework construction. These methods lead to identify the trends afore mentioned as a contribution to the theory of curricular design.
