Diabetes mellitus in patients with osteoarthrosis determine the number of affected joints, enlargement of the incidence of roentgenographic signs of joint syndrome, the severity of involvement of the spine, knee and hip joints, that depends on the indices of insulinemia and glycosylated hemoglobin in the blood. Development of gonarthrosis and coxarthrosis is more common in type II diabetes mellitus, which has impact on formation of osteocystosis, osteophytosis, osteoporosis, subchondral sclerosis, intraarticular calcifications, ligamentosis and intraarticular cartilage flaps.
