During an interview held on 11 January 2013 in Istanbul, The Grand Master in office, Professor Remzi Sanver, described the present situation of Freemasonry in Turkey: this istitution is currently represented by the Grand Lodge of Turkey, which is the most important obedience operating within the Turkish territory. He went on discussing the roots of Freemasonry, its recent history and its international relationships. He also expressed his position about gender problems and finally he talked about the present and the future, focusing on the fact that Turkey is engaged in a debate where tradition and innovation are confronted.
