FRENCH ARITHMETIC TEXTBOOKS DURING THE 19TH CENTURY
Abstract
In this article, we want to analyse textbooks of the 19th century to know which pedagogical method was proposed to teachers and pupils. We choose to work on textbooks published between 1798 and 1881, a period of more than eighty years. During this time, methods changed to increase the pupils’ progress. We will try to analyse this evolution.
