The Juatuba Basin, located at about 60 km from Belo Horizonte, has been used for several years, as a laboratory of several hydrossedimentological studies, in research projects that many times involve the use of natural, fluorescent and radioactive tracers. In this work, radon was used as a natural tracer to investigate the occurrence of discharge sections at Juatuba Basin. To analyze the radon activity concentration of water samples, the equipment RAD 7 was used. It was found sections with radon activity concentrations higher than the average of the stream under study. Flow rate variations obtained with the use of fluorescent tracers and a fluorometer confirm the indicative of the existence of the discharge sections at the site.
