Level of Information About the Urgent Procedures in Dental Traumatism with Avulsion

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate how public and private schools students aged level 12, their parents and teachers are informed about the urgent procedures concerning dental traumatism with avulsion. Method: The sample was formed by 990 individuals, to whom a closed and well-oriented questionnaire was applied, which, after analysis and evaluation by two endodontists and one oral pathologist, were classified in four levels high, reasonable, low and very low. Results: From the entire sample, only 6.77% showed a high level of knowledge; 16.26% showed a reasonable level; 51.13% showed low level, and 23.84% showed very low level of knowledge. No significant correlation was established between public and private schools. Conclusion: The level of knowledge about an urgent procedure when facing dental traumatism is low, turning the inclusion of the theme into bucal health prevention programs necessary.
