Objective: To elaborate an algorithm in order to establish an integral conduct in childhood considering the buccal respiratory syndrome, in Placetas municipality, Villa Clara province, from September, 2009 to December, 2010. Methods: A qualitative research was performed using a non-probabilistic sampling, and experts’ criteria were also used. The process was carried out in three stages; for this, a multidisciplinary team was formed in order to elaborate the algorithm, the principal deficiencies related to diagnosis, conduct, follow-up and control of this disease were identified, using different techniques and methods. Information was processed using the triangular method and subjected to content analysis. Groups, in which the team worked, were identified, and the algorithm was elaborated in work rounds, with the aim of improving clinical practice considering this disease. Results: While doing this algorithm, a necessary scientific support is offered for rationalizing stomatological conduct, as well as, for decreasing professional variability which is undoubtedly a health problem in this municipality. Conclusion: The designed algorithm was evaluated as excellent by the consulted experts in each of its steps, which can be generalized and applied in similar contexts.
