PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN KONTEKSTUAL PADA MAHASISWA SEMESTER I MATERI DINAMIKA

Proses belajar mengajar di bangku kuliah umumnya bersifat Teacher Centered, sehingga mahasiswa sulit menemukan sendiri suatu konsep tertentu. Sebagai pengajar harusnya dosen dapat mengaplikasikan berbagai model pembelajaran diantaranya adalah model pembelajaran kontekstual. Model pembelajaran kontekstual salah satu model yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains maupun aktivitas mahasiswa dan dosen. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian  tindakan kelas pada 35 orang mahasiswa semester I unit B Prodi Pendidikan Fisika. Melalui penelitian ini diharapkan akan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains serta aktivitas dosen dan mahasiswa. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian ini adalah data hasil belajar berupa keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa dan data hasil observasi (pengamatan) aktivitas dosen dan mahasiswa. Setelah semua data terkumpul dianalisis dengan menggunakan rumus persentase. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa terjadi peningkatan keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa semester I program studi pendidikan Fisika melalui pembelajaran kontekstual materi Dinamika. Teaching and learning process in the University is mostly teacher-centered. Therefore, it is difficult for students to develop the concept of science by themselves. A lecturer should be able to apply a variety of learning model such as contextual teaching and learning model. Contextual teaching and learning model is a model that can improve science process skills and activities of student and lecturer. This classroom action research was conducted in first semester of physics departement consisting of 35 students. The research was expected to improve science process skills and activities of students an lecturer. The data were obtained from assessment results in the form of science process skills, observation of students and lecturer activities. The data was analyzed by using percentage formula. The result showed that there was an improvement of science process skills of the students in first semester of physics departement through the application of contextual teaching and learning model in Dynamics material.
