FACTORS AND PROSPECTS FOR THE FORMATION OF THE MARKET OF LOCAL (SUBURBAN) RECREATION TOURISM IN THE «SPA» FORMAT

The paper considers the with prerequisites of SPA tourism market formation. It is shown that the growing offer of various SPA programmes with different duration and the place of supply is an objective reaction of recreation services market to the needs of a contemporary person. The paper presents the segmentation of SPA tourism market from the viewpoint of consumers’ motives which are dominant when choosing a SPA as the main aim of traveling, as well as the segmentation from the viewpoint of consumers’ interests which determine the geography of SPA tourism. The growth of opportunities in this market in relation to the peculiarities of tourism in Russia is analyzed. Conclusions are drawn about the prospects for the development of local (suburban) SPA-tourism.
