The direction of public school centers: its legal concretion in Spain.
Abstract
This article tries to analyze the controversial figure of the director, whose profile for Primary and Secondary was converging and being defined between the beginning of the Francoism and the present time from the different legal models that followed one another. In the case of Primary, the direction runs parallel to the birth and evolution of the graduate school. In the case of Secondary, its origin is not so recent, to the extent that this level is traditionally assigned to the University. Another aspect analyzed will be the conflicting questions regarding the direction that have appeared in the analyzed period, in particular that of "professionalization". This the main conclusions, a historical perspective in relation to the selection, formation and functions of the direction is offered and it is observed that there has never been a professional directive function
