Correlation and path analysis in american cotton

Abstract

Correlation and path coefficient analysis have been worked out for 9 quantitative characters in 40 genotypes of uplandcotton at Agricultural College Farm, Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh. The correlation and path coefficient analysis togetherindicated that number of bolls plant-1, boll weight, ginning outturn, seed index and lint index should be considered asselection indices for seed cotton yield plant-1 improvement programme.
