Abstract

The Qur'ān and the Sunnah are the primary sources of knowledge in Islam. Together with the Qurʾan, the statements and actions of the Prophetﷺ form the basis of Islamic law and theology. Considering importance of Hadith and its sciences Muslim scholars of every era have dedicated substantial efforts in this field. This involved efforts in compiling Hadith, its transcription and publication, its collection and organization, and ensuring its preservation and accuracy, along with addressing all related sciences connected to the field of Hadith. As a way of showcasing their love and respect for our dear Prophetﷺ throughout history, Muslim scholars have contributed to this virtuous work to the best of their abilities. Attuned to the societal pulse, teachers of Institute of Islamic Studies, University of The Punjab have actively engaged in this sacred endeavor. Their initiatives involve familiarizing the public with the sciences of Hadith and the texts of traditions, emphasizing its significance, and uncovering the efforts of the righteous predecessors. In this write-up their authored works and compositions in the field of Hadith and Uloom-ul-Hadith is briefly examined.
