In this paper, we investigate the power quality improvement in a photovoltaic-fed dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) system by utilizing a multilevel inverter controlled through the Adaptive Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) algorithm. The GWO algorithm is applied to optimize the switching angles of the multilevel inverter, minimizing Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and mitigating voltage sags in the power system. By integrating renewable energy from photovoltaic (PV) sources, the DVR compensates for voltage disturbances while ensuring cleaner energy conversion and higher power quality. Simulation results demonstrate significant improvements in power quality, including THD reduction and stable voltage restoration during disturbances.
