This paper presents a didactic experience with deaf students in a class of Phase I, Third Stage of Youth and Adult Education, in which manipulative materials reproducing watches were created and used to support the completion of the internal didactic transposition of mathematical knowledge Time Measures. This choice was made on the assumption that the deaf understand the world by sight, and thus, it was considered that visuals could constitute support the construction of the concept in question. The results analyzed according to the Didactic Transposition Theory indicated the effectiveness of manipulatives produced and operated by students in activities group, consisting thus in a relevant way to internal didactic transposition of mathematical knowledge studied in a bilingual school context for the deaf.
