Intercultural effectiveness and videos use: characterization of basic high school students’ audiovisual production from the colombian caribbean
Abstract
This Article presents the results of an investigation that wanted to promote the knowledge in a Colombian Caribbean region with a group of students from basic high school from the Colombian Caribbean, through the production of low-cost videos. It is a qualitative research with an investigation-action-participation design. The investigative group proposed to the teachers the design on a didactic unity in which the students would perform a video production with mobile devices about topics of their own culture. 54 students with ages between 14 and 16 participated. It was evident that students and teachers participated, they were interested in searching about their cultural legacy, realizing and knowing about their ethnic or culture where they parents, grandparents and their selves were from. The resulted interactions of the videos production process helped to promote the knowledge about their own culture, through the process of decision making, conflict resolution and respect between peers.
