Along this period, the area were occupied by the “del Soto” culture, celtiberians, romans and visigoths. Reports located at the “Museo Provincial de Salamanca” of a great number of archaeological excavatios are our main documentary sources, although most of them are unpublished nowadays. The archaeological campaigns took place since 1984 at San Vicente’s Hill, the original settlement of the city, as well as the Cathedral’s Hill, the last settlement of Salamanca.
