Now the problem of overcoming terrorism is international. At the same time the desire of Ukraine's integration into the international community, the European legal space, as well as the need for further harmonization of the legislation of our country to European Union law necessitate further research. That is why, the article examines the legal framework regulating issues of anti-terrorist activities in Ukraine.Recently, Ukraine held an unprecedented event - the occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea the Russian Federation, the counterterrorist operation (ATO) in its eastern regions. However, examples of terrorist acts around the world testify to qualitative transformation phenomenon. Today the arena of terrorism transformed not only certain regions of international conflicts, and almost all countries. The situation in Ukraine today, shows that the defeat terrorism on its own separate state is not possible. The problem is international in nature, requiring the development and implementation of coordinated actions of different countries and the international community as a whole aimed to adequately respond the challenges of terrorism.Ukraine's integration into the world community, the European legal space, and the need for further harmonization of legislation of our country to European Union law necessitate further research. That is why, the authors sought to examine the legal basis regulating anti-terrorist activities from a position of regulations at different levels.
