Abstract

This paper aims to offer a new analysis of Sophocles’ fr. 662 Radt2 from a textual-exegetical and a dramaturgical point of view. It also investigates the many contexts of reuse of the fragment, as well as the possible new meanings it acquires, its formal variations and its rephrasing, which depend on the specific cultural environment of the authors who cite the fragment, and that could eventually be helpful to understand its original meaning.
