In this essay the social thought of the Pope is explored, especially three main aspects: the diagnosis that the Pontiff makes about the world nowadays and its crisis; the main aspects of his economic and ecological thinking; and finally, the relationship between the Pope’s thinking and some of the most important philosophers of the last century and the current ones, basically referring to the need of redefining the meaning of the economic growth, the notion of commonwealth, as well as his ecological proposal. This way it is claimed that the Pope Francisco advocates for a pastoral Church, in dialogue with science, humanities and philosophy towards a radical transformation of our lifestyles.
