O drama da instalação das famílias agricultoras na frente pioneira amazônica
Abstract
This paper objective is to demonstrate the suffering expression lived by assentment agrarian reform people of the Landless Workers Movement (MST) of Pará southeastern mesoregion, Brazil. It propose to reveal the factors which made the resistance of 16 migrant families, mainly from the northeast of Brazil, during one year and nine months of fighting in camps and occupations to get a 25 hectares lot in Palmares II settlement, in which they live since 1996. To obtain the elements contained in the interviews was made the use of oral history and collective memory of the settlers in order to trace the history experienced by these families during the process of conquest and resistance in the land.
