Objectives. Pesticides that disrupt the endocrine system are the largest group of endocrine disruptors. Aim of the study was to assess the hygienic estimation of the use of pesticides that affect the endocrine system, applied in the agricultural sector of the Republic of Moldova as a plant protection products. Material and methods. The level of pesticides application was evaluated, analyzing the data of the official statistics “Report on the stock and use of the phytosanitary products” f-2/e, as well as “The structure of the surfaces of the agricultural crops” f-10/e. Results. About 2100 tons of pesticides were used in 2019. Out of the total number of 932 pesticides, used in agriculture, 179 are found in the List of Pesticides, which modifies the endocrine system functioning. Among them, 65 products (36.8%) were used as insecticides/acaricides, slightly fewer were fungicides – 57 (31.8%), herbicides were 44 (24,6%), as well as 13 (7.3%) – other products. Conclusions. Population exposure to these xenobiotics can have serious effects on health: infertility, cancer, etc. The phenomenon of the effects of endocrine disruptors on the population health remains a global challenge and a source of concern for public health specialists. The main role in minimizing and preventing exposure to endocrine disruptors and their risks to human health belongs to the National Agency for Public Health. It is required elaboration of national policies in the field of prevention and control of diseases conditioned by the action of endocrine disruptors.
