The aim of this article is understand if the quality in higher education is impacted by the teacher’s titration and if the different types of educational institution and/or categories: public or private, present distinctive results. For that, it was tested the possibility of correlation between the performance of undergraduate students in the exam (Enade) and the note that rep resents the proportion of teachers with master and/or doctor’s degree in each institution. The results prove that, in Brazil, publics Universities are only one that has moderate correlation in both cases: master and doctor’s degree from teachers. In privat e institutions the correlation is weak in both cases only in faculties. Then, with the exception of public universities, in Brazil, does not justify the MEC's requirement for a minimum percentage of teachers and doctors as one of the aspects that prove the higher institution quality if do not included any other criteria in relation to teachers.
